The Fun Box

Rental terms and documents

This page explains the reservation process. Before signing, you receive a private link to the complete agreement, rental details, policy schedule and addendum for your rental. Review that complete agreement before initialing or signing; you can open, download and print it.

Request and review

Start with your package, dates, contact details and travel plans. Your request is pending availability and owner review. The Fun Box then provides a private intake link for driver, tow-vehicle, license and insurance information. This is a self-tow rental: you supply the tow vehicle and perform the hauling.

Agreement and payment

Review the complete terms, provide the required topic initials and separate electronic-record consent, then sign your rental agreement. The Fun Box sends a PayPal invoice after signing. Applicable tax and the final total appear on that invoice. A $25 routine tote-cleaning fee applies once per rental; hitch rental is optional at $15. No security or damage deposit is collected.

Confirmation and pickup

The owner verifies payment directly in PayPal and separately confirms the rental after the required document, signature and availability checks. Your private pickup code is released separately with pickup instructions. Submitting a request or paying an invoice does not automatically confirm a booking. Follow the pickup and return times on your confirmation.

1. Routine tote cleaning

The $25 routine cleanup fee is charged once per rental and covers cleaning and disinfecting all rented totes for the next customer. It remains separate from responsibility for damage or missing equipment. This addendum establishes no additional cleaning penalty.

2. Return condition and video

Return the trailer clear of personal belongings, with rented equipment returned, cleaned as required by the rental agreement, and organized in its designated places. At drop-off, record one video of no more than 60 seconds showing the trailer interior/exterior and the returned totes and equipment. Upload it privately to the matching rental through the separate return-upload link provided by The Fun Box. The video documents the return condition and supports the owner's inspection; it does not by itself settle a damage claim.

3. Damage and missing equipment: actual costs

The renter agrees to pay reasonable, documented actual repair costs for damage for which the renter is responsible under the rental agreement. Missing equipment, or equipment that cannot reasonably be repaired, may be billed at a documented reasonable replacement cost for a comparable item, considering its prior condition. Ordinary wear, preexisting damage and owner-caused damage are excluded. A later inspection alone does not make the renter responsible for damage occurring after return.

4. Itemized billing and payment

The Fun Box will provide an itemized invoice and supporting condition/cost evidence for a damage or missing-item claim. The renter may respond or identify an error before the claim is resolved. Payment is handled separately through the owner's manual invoice process, and a payment receipt is supplied after payment is verified. This acknowledgment does not authorize automatic card or bank debits.

5. Travel disclosure

Travel within Utah is permitted, including Utah County and Salt Lake City. Out-of-state travel is also permitted when disclosed to The Fun Box in advance. Before the trip, indicate whether travel will leave Utah and identify the destination state(s) and city/area. The rental agreement's existing driver, towing, loading and prohibited-use rules continue to apply.
